Mayor Walsh will deliver budget overview to the Common Council Monday, April 9

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh will present his first budget before the Syracuse Common Council on Monday, April 9. 

In addition to a written submission to be provided to councilors, the Mayor will deliver an overview presentation of his proposed fiscal year 2019 budget to the Council at the legislative body’s Noon study session on April 9. The meeting will be held in the Syracuse Common Council Chambers at Syracuse City Hall, 233 E. Washington St., and is open to the public.

The budget presentation is one of several public engagement opportunities being made available regarding the budget:

Proposed Budget Posted Online – The Mayor’s proposed budget will be posted on the DataCuse website at http://data.syrgov.net/pages/budget after it is delivered to the Council.

Community Presentations – The Mayor and members of his staff will deliver the budget presentation to community groups. Interested organizations can request presentations by phone at (315)448-8005 or by email at mayor@syrgov.net.

In addition, because of a public engagement initiative of the Common Council, FY 2019 budget public hearings beginning April 10 will be livestreamed via WCNY-TV on YouTube. A full schedule and link to view the hearings will be available on April 9 on www.syrgov.net.
