Citizens Review Board, Board of Zoning Appeals and City Planning Commission Added to Streaming Program

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The City of Syracuse now streams the meetings of three additional city agency and organizations online: the Citizens Review Board, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and the City Planning Commission.

In April 2018, the City of Syracuse and the Syracuse Common Council began streaming Council meetings after equipping the Common Council Chambers with cameras and streaming technology. The City expanded the program in June to include meetings of the Syracuse Industrial Development Agency.

The Citizens Review Board, a citizen-controlled process for reviewing grievances involving police officers, meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m.

The Board of Zoning Appeals, a board that holds public hearings to decide appeals or interpret provisions of the City of Syracuse Zoning Rules and Regulations, meets every three weeks on Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.

The City Planning Commission, a board that holds public hearings and reviews matters pertaining to planning and development, meets every three weeks on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. Schedules for these meetings are available online at www.syrgov.net under “City Hall.”

Streamed meetings are indicated by a camera icon. In addition to the streaming feed, meetings are open to the public. Streams are viewable at www.youtube.com/cityofsyracuse.
