SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse is urging drivers and public transportation users to plan ahead and leave extra time if they are traveling through the Downtown, Sedgwick, Eastwood and Franklin Square areas on Sunday, Nov. 10 between the hours of 7 a.m. to approximately 10 a.m. Multiple streets, including several main roads, will be closed to traffic for periods of time due to the Syracuse Half Marathon.

Race organizers have prepared a course map and closure timetable so drivers can plan an alternate route that gets around closed streets. The closing and reopening schedule is based on the expected time the more than 5,000 runners and walkers will pass each section of the course. Organizers request that residents plan for extra time traveling during the race hours.

Syracuse Police Department officers will direct traffic, allowing vehicles to move forward in between runners as they clear the way. For questions, route detours and more information, please contact Rick Streeter at syracusehalf@gmail.com.
