Syracuse, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse Department of Public Works (DPW) will collect natural Christmas trees curbside following a quadrant pickup schedule during the month of January.
Residents should set out trees in the Northeast on Jan. 4-5, Southeast on Jan. 11-12, Southwest on Jan. 18-19 and Northwest on Jan. 25-26. City residents can also drop off trees at the DPW yard waste site on Canal Street located off of Midler Avenue Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Before placing trees curbside, residents should remove all decorations, lights, tinsel, stands, plastic, and metal from trees. Artificial trees should properly bagged and disposed of with trash according to the regular pickup schedule.
Residents may also drop off trees to Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA) at either the Jamesville Compost Site, located at 4370 Route 91, Jamesville, or the Amboy Compost Site, located at 6296 Airport Road, Camillus.
