The City of Syracuse Department of Public Works (DPW) announced today that yard waste and construction debris pickups will resume regularly scheduled dates for all quadrants during October.

As in previous years, October is the last month in which residents can set out yard waste and construction debris for pickup before DPW converts its equipment and staff to winter operations. Leaves only are picked up in November and December, weather dependent.
Due in part to delays in pickups created by COVID-19 this year, the City has been behind on pickups scheduled throughout the summer. Residents in the Northeast quadrant are asked to keep their setouts in place for pick up in early October. Through Nov. 1, residents can also drop off their yard waste at DPW, located at 1200 Canal St., Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The City expects to be able to maintain the following scheduled dates this fall:
Northeast Quadrant: October 3-4
Southeast Quadrant: October 10-11
Southwest Quadrant: October 17-18
Northwest Quadrant: October 24-25
