All Activities and Classes Require Advance Online Registration with COVID-19 Protocols in Place

The City of Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs will begin offering senior activities and classes at the Bob Cecile Community Center (174 W. Seneca Turnpike) and Magnarelli Community Center (2300 Grant Blvd.), between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. beginning Monday, May 17, by advanced online registration only.

“For the last year our seniors have missed out on the social connection they feel when visiting our senior centers,” said Parks Commissioner Julie LaFave. “Safely restarting senior programming allows a sense of normalcy for everyone as we continue to move forward.”

All reservations must be made online, in advance. A schedule of planned activities and classes can be found at Syracuse.recdesk.com under senior programs. Reservations can be made online seven days prior to each activity and will remain online until filled.

Patrons can call both locations Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for questions and assistance with the online registration process. The phone numbers are:

Beginning May 10, patrons can go to Syracuse.recdesk.com to register for an upcoming programs scheduled to start on May 17.

The following health and safety precautions will be taken:

  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home.
  • Masks must be worn at all times during activities.
  • Temperatures will be taken for each patron at check-in.
  • Participants must remain six feet apart from others unless they reside in the same household.
