We honor the great and courageous man he was, and the legacy he left behind. While his life was taken, the light he walked in can never be mistaken. He stood for what is right, good, and noble, and challenged others to do the same. He was a true servant leader and will forever be remembered. #MLKDay

The guide also covers resident responsibilities for things like trash setouts, sidewalks and yard care. Look for it in the mail soon and save it for when you need it. The lights on the Clinton Square Christmas tree were turned off last night to pay tribute to the 453 victims of COVID-19 in Onondaga County in 2020, including William Winslow, a former city Parks employee.

The tree remained off for nearly eight hours, one minute for each person who succumbed to the virus last year. 

Remember to wash your hands, wear a mask, avoid gatherings, socially distance and get tested.

A great way to start off the new year is to join C A great way to start off the new year is to join City employees to help save lives. American Red Cross will partner with the City once again to host a blood drive open to both City staff and the public on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the City Hall Commons Atrium.
 
The need for blood donations continues to increase as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. To help those in need of blood transfusions and receive free antibody testing, make an appointment by going to redcrossblood.org and use the "syrcityhall" code or call 1-800-733-2767.
CHRISTMAS TREE SETOUTS IN JANUARY The Department o CHRISTMAS TREE SETOUTS IN JANUARY The Department of Public Works will be picking up natural Christmas trees during the month of January following a quadrant schedule. Setouts begin after the New Year:

Northeast - Jan. 2-3
Southeast - Jan 9-10
Southwest - Jan. 16-17
Northwest - Jan. 23-24

Before placing trees curbside, residents should remove all decorations, lights, tinsel, stands, plastic, and metal from trees. You can also drop your tree off at the DPW yard waste site on Canal Street weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Information on others sites at http://bit.ly/34LBPO0
